Encore Productions include:

’Dance-a-long’ that is an audience-participation show designed by Bajoy tracing the development of popular dance;

’Missing Pieces’ by Villede Carter that features his original poetry accompanied by songs and dances; and

‘The Unicorn Tapestries’ created by Bajoy that recounts the story of ‘The Lady and the Unicorn’ tapestries now hanging in the Cluny Museum in Paris.

New Productions

ACT also features the premiere of Moon Aerandir’s new theatre work, ‘The Strange but Fortunate Tale of Padstow Jack’ that weaves a poignant yet hopeful story from a mermaid’s monologue and toe-tapping folk tunes.

The Fandangos, led by choreographer Moon Aerandir, present a thought-provoking new work, entitled, ‘Circus of Dreams.’ If it were literature it would be
‘mystical realism,’ if it were an art work you might associate it with surrealism or even Da Da, if it were a theatre piece it might bring to mind ‘commedia ‘dell arte’ or even ‘ theatre of the absurd.’ In short, this innovative dance work defies definition, but is a feast for the eyes with choreography that delights, costumes that enchant, and tunes that leave you wanting more from this energetic new Avilion dance company.

The Fandangos present The Circus of Dreams at Avilion Arts Festival in September

Circus of D2_001cropped

When Toulouse Lautrec tried to paint them he woke each morning to find his canvas was blank. Hardly surprising, given the nature of the Circus of Dreams. They are restless and always move on.

You may ask why is there a door that seems to lead nowhere.

Even the Master of Ceremonies wonders about that from time to time and the fact that he can’t discover the answer is beginning to irritate him, just a little, after 150 years.

The dancers don’t let it bother them much, though it sometimes confuses their entrances and exits to and from the stage.

But the show must go on! – or at least they all presume that it must – so they perform every night whether there is an audience or not. If the whole thing ends in chaos who cares.

They dance! And that’s what REALLY matters.

ACT will perform at SL13B

‘The Book of Love & Imagination’ is an original dance drama by Moon Aerandir. His poetry combines with music and dance to explore the pathways of love and imagination.

It was first performed in Avilion and then toured to The Globe and Ce Soir Arts. Our final performance will be on Saturday June 25th at 8am SLT as part of this years Second Life Birthday Celebrations.

An illustrated souvenir book has been produced by Pipit Peacedream and Flame Jie and this is available in Avilion’s Market Place – pick up a free copy there or at the main ACT stage.
